An “overly-enthusiastic” barking dog can be a problem for everyone concerned. In this type of situation, everyone loses, especially the dog if the situation cannot be controlled.
Thankfully,
there is a way to train your dog to quit barking.
Dog bark collars are an effective yet humane way to modify a barking dog’s behavior.
There are two important safety precautions that need to be observed.
First of all, most of these types of collars are designed to be used for no more than 12 hours at a time. This requirement needs to be met for the humane treatment of the animal.
Second, make sure to remove the collar from the dog when playing with him. Playing can sometimes cause your dog to bark and you do not want the dog to associate playing with you as bad behavior.
How Do These Collars Work?
Basically the way that these types of collars work is twofold. First is the technology necessary to actually sense the dog barking. The better types of dog bark collars have a dual detection system that monitors both vibration and sound sensors (dual-detection) to discriminate each bark from other external noises.
Then when the level and/or frequency of the dog’s barking exceeds the setting of the device, ultra-sonic and other low frequency tones are emitted that cause the dog to cease his barking.
The more sophisticated units have a built in sensor that increases the level of the sounds emitted if the dog fails to quit barking. These same sensors will decrease the levels if the dog remains quiet for a period of time.
The bottom line is this; if you have a dog that is being a nuisance for you or your neighbors with its continual barking, you need to correct the situation immediately. Dog bark collars give you a humane, virtually hands-free tool that should be able to correct the problem for you in a relatively short period of time.
